Habitat for Humanity of Worcester County, Maryland

Since its inception in 1976, Habitat has been building houses around the world, with 200,000th homes completed in more than 100 countries. Here in Worcester County, Maryland, we have completed 11 houses and are working to complete 5 more in 2006 and 2007 with continued support from our donors and volunteers.

Habitat for Humanity of Worcester County was affiliated in 1994. Initial resources of $100,000 came from an anonymous donation and they are being supplemented by local fund raising efforts. Local 'covenant' churches also provide and offer prayers and service. Click on "Upcoming Events" for some of our fundraising events.

Habitat for Humanityof Worcester County has been blessed to be able to provide eleven deserving families of Worcester County with quality low cost housing . The first four houses were built in or around Berlin, the fifth house was completed in Ocean Pines. Our sixth house was located in Whaleyville. Our seventh home is located in Snow Hill, MD. A continuing challenge to our affiliate is the availability of "affordable" building lots. If anyone feels they are in a position to help in this regard ... either by notifying us of potential sites or by working on the Site Selection Committee ... please email Habitat@atbeach.com
